Restaurant ’s Molenaarsbrug stands where the Old Rhine meets the Heimanswetering in Alphen aan den Rijn. Its historic building, waterfront terrace and boat mooring make it particularly appealing in good weather. Indoor dining is also available for a relaxed dinner, business lunch or meeting.
The location has a long history. An inn called De Vergulden Roskam was first recorded here in 1654, with horse stables and a stop for tow barges. The building was largely rebuilt around 1865, when the name ’s Molenaarsbrug emerged. The third generation of the family has managed the restaurant since 2017.
The official July menu offers five courses for €49 and three courses for €39. Both include an amuse-bouche, bread before the meal and fries with the main course. Individual dishes can also be ordered: the published guide prices are €18 for a starter, €15 for an intermediate course, €30 for a main and €10 for dessert. Dishes and specials change monthly.
Opening hours are seasonal. From May through September, ’s Molenaarsbrug opens Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 10 pm for lunch, drinks and dinner. From October through April, regular hours on those days are 5 pm to 10 pm. Monday is normally closed, although different arrangements are possible for groups.
